LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM, 6th December 2024— The Latin GRAMMY Awards were back in Miami on November 15 to celebrate the 25th edition of the greatest night of Latin Music. Artists, musicians, and producers gathered at the Kaseya Center to award the most successful hits of the year. The evening continued with the rhythms of New Urban Sounds, Grupo Frontera, an in Memoriam segment, Darumas and the international stars Marc Anthony and Bon Jovi; each performer relied on Shure BETA®58 handheld wireless microphones. 

Luis Fonsi, awarded with Mejor Álbum Pop Vocal for his album “El Viaje,” sang a mix of his most famous songs using a Shure KSM9 microphone capsule.

CLAUSEN, LUXEMBURG – January 2025 — In the international banking quarter of Kirchberg lies the Grande-Duchesse Joséphine-Charlotte Concert Hall, commonly known as The Luxembourg Philharmonie, designed by Christian de Portzamparc and opened in 2005. In its young existence, the Philharmonie has swiftly become a vital cultural hub, hosting nearly 400 performances annually that encompass a vast palette of genres, including classical, jazz, world music, and more. The venue’s programming versatility is mirrored in its fluctuating audience capacity, encompassing three performance spaces, including the principal Grande Auditorium which can accommodate anywhere from 400 to 1,500 spectators, depending on its configuration. 

As the demands of contemporary performance continue to evolve, so does the need for cutting-edge audio technology able to reinforce the variety of performances the Philharmonie hosts throughout the year. Now, nearly 20 years from its official opening, the venue has reached another milestone, upgrading to a new L-Acoustics K3 concert sound system.

The Luxembourg Philharmonie and L-Acoustics share a long-standing relationship, with the venue already featuring an L-Acoustics dV-DOSC installations. In 2022, wishing to upgrade its sound system, L-Acoustics K3 was chosen during a competitive selection process, emerging as the winner for its versatile directivity and its lightweight design which facilitates easy reconfiguration to match the changing geometries of the Grande Auditorium. 

L-Acoustics Certified Provider Distributor Babbel & Haeger supported Luxembourg-based events management service provider Pro Musik during the installation process. 

> There are a lot of great-sounding venues, but the Philharmonie wanted to up the ante and bring in a world-class system for a world-class concert hall,” says Max Kaub, Integrator at Pro Musik. “This made recommending L-Acoustics an easy decision, and the K3 made perfect sense for its powerful full bandwidth and compact, flexible design.

The system comprises two hangs of nine L-Acoustics K3 per side, with six KS21 subwoofers providing low-end extension, covering both the main floor and the balcony seating areas without obstructing sightlines. Near-fill is accomplished with two A10 Focus and two A10 Wide. Front-fill is handled by four X8, and the entire system is powered by LA4X amplified controllers. Calibration was managed by Sebastian Wittrock and Christian Schmid from L-Acoustics.

The L Series installation proves particularly effective for L'Aéronef's smaller stage, Le Club. Despite space constraints and low trim height, the L Series provides audio performance comparable to that of the facing main stage.

Sylvain Nosek of installation partner SLS overcame the challenges due to space constraints and the venue's dual-stage layout using L-Acoustics Soundvision software to design a solution that provides consistent, high-quality sound throughout the venue. 

The new configuration for the Le Club stage consists of two L2D line array speakers, one on each side, paired with two flown KS28 subwoofers per side, allowing for deep bass reproduction without encroaching on the stage area. The system also features two clusters of A10i down-fill speakers, one Focus and one Wide per side, ensuring complete coverage for even the most challenging spots in the venue. All speakers were flown to maintain clear audience sightlines, freeing up valuable stage space. 

Wils was particularly impressed during the system’s testing, saying, “We moved anywhere in the space, and the sound was consistently excellent - L-Acoustics delivered the same impact even at much lower sound levels than we expected.” The consultative approach and understanding of the venue's requirements from L-Acoustics helped deliver an innovative solution that exceeded expectations, balancing power and subtlety in an intimate yet dynamic space.

A customised training session, led by Arnaud Delorme, Senior Application Engineer at L-Acoustics, ensured that L’Aéronef’s technicians were fully equipped to make the most of the new system. “The support and training provided were outstanding, and it made all the difference in our ability to adapt quickly to the new technology,” said Wils.

LONDON, UK – November 2024 – London’s O2 Academy Brixton, one of the world's most celebrated and iconic music venues, has raised the bar on its live experience with a permanent L-Acoustics K Series professional sound system. This Grade II listed marvel of architecture, featuring a unique 140-foot domed ceiling, Art Deco interior, and a signature stage, has anchored countless legendary performances since its 1929 debut. From The Clash to Coldplay and Chappell Roan, the best in live music have graced this hallowed stage.

Academy Music Group has now raised the bar, investing in a state-of-the-art audio system for the venue's elite status. After extensive consultations with touring sound engineers and meticulous room modelling, Academy Music Group has once again partnered with Adlib to install a sophisticated L-Acoustics K1 concert sound system. This innovative design ensures world-class audio for O2 Academy Brixton’s diverse schedule, delivering exceptional sonic experiences while radically streamlining tour setups. 

> L-Acoustics was the ideal choice for its rider-friendly reputation, superior sound quality, and reliability," says Rob Crossland, Installation Project Manager at Adlib. "L-Acoustics Soundvision modelling software was instrumental, allowing us to create an optimal design that overcomes the room's unique challenges.

> The major question in the system design was to keep acoustic energy off the deep, flat front of the raked balcony. We overcame this by creating an array with L-Acoustics K1-SB halfway down, allowing us to maintain pattern control of the LF while avoiding mid/high frequency reflections on stage, resulting in a very clean sound, adds Crossland.

The precisely engineered L-Acoustics setup includes dual hangs of four K1-SB, eight K1 and three K2 per side. 16 KS28 subwoofers are ground-stacked on the stage eight per side in four stacks of four. Four A10 Focus are placed across the stage lip to provide front-fill. An additional two A15 Focus per side increase imaging for those stood towards the front. Under balcony fill is catered to by two X8 coaxial loudspeakers and ten A10i Wide. LA12X and LA4X amplified controllers, driven by P1 processors, provide ample power and seamless system management.

L-Acoustics Unleashes Legendary K1 Concert Sound at London's  Iconic O2 Academy Brixton

ARNHEM, Netherlands - October 2024 - Musis Arnhem, one of the Netherlands' oldest and most prestigious concert halls, has completed a major audio upgrade to meet the evolving needs of its diverse programming. The venue, hosting over 100 concerts annually across various genres, has installed an L-Acoustics L Series loudspeaker system in the Parkzaal, marking a significant leap in its sound reinforcement capabilities.

L-Acoustics Certified Partner Fairlight spearheaded the design and implementation of the new system. The project presented unique challenges, including the need to accommodate the Parkzaal's diverse range of events, and its distinctive 16 by 11-metre glass back wall.

**Rider-friendly Professional Sound System Exceeds Expectations**

Rene van der Linden of Fairlight comments:

> L-Acoustics, with their reputation for superior sound quality and frequent appearance on technical riders, was the clear choice for Musis Arnhem, which primarily hosts visiting productions. When we demonstrated the L Series system in the Parkzaal, it quickly became evident that it not only met but exceeded all their sound requirements. The installation in the 2,000-capacity Parkzaal demanded a versatile sound system capable of delivering exceptional quality across all performance types, from classical to contemporary. Key challenges included achieving high sound pressure levels with uniformity across all listener positions while maintaining a low noise floor for classical concerts and corporate events. The system needed to adapt to the hall's adjustable acoustics, including reflective oak walls and 400 sound-absorbing panels, while minimising visual impact in the architecturally striking venue. Additionally, the team had to address the complex acoustic environment created by the balcony design.

**A Unique Audio Solution to Unique Audio Challenges**

The project presented unique challenges, including the need to accommodate the Parkzaal's adjustable acoustics, such as reflective uneven oak walls for classical concerts, 400 sound-absorbing panels for amplified production, and its distinctive glass wall overlooking the Musis park. The system had to deliver high sound pressure levels with uniformity across all listener positions while maintaining a low noise floor for classical concerts and corporate events. Compact loudspeakers were necessary to minimise visual impact in the architecturally striking venue.

The team utilised L-Acoustics Soundvision software to overcome these challenges during the design process. This powerful tool allowed them to test and refine various configurations virtually, ensuring optimal coverage and performance before the physical installation began.

The system design includes a main PA of one L2 and one L2D per side, plus 4 KS21 per side, complemented by eight KS21 subwoofers for low-end reinforcement. Four A10 Wide speakers serve as in-fills, with three 5XT providing front-fill coverage. The system is powered by four LA7.16i, and two LA12X and LA2Xi amplified controllers, with processing handled by the P1 processor and networked via LS10 Milan-AVB switches.

Developed by Shure, Spatial Diversity employs two transmit diversity antennas, each sending an identical signal on the same frequency, providing RF engineers with a new, easier option for supporting separate zones and optimizing coverage for stadiums, indoor venues, and broadcast studios. When Spatial Diversity transmitters engage with True Digital Diversity bodypack receivers, Axient Digital PSM combines four discrete signal paths per channel to deliver advanced protection against multipath interference and RF noise.

**Flexibility and Scalability**

Axient Digital PSM features two single rack space transmitter options: ADTQ Quad Transmitter and ADTD Dual Transmitter. Both offer four flexible and powerful transmission modes. 

●	Multi-channel Wideband (available regionally according to WMAS regulations), supporting up to 28 channels per 6 MHz in the US and 40 channels per 8 MHz in Europe. NORWICH, UK - October 2024 - SOUL Church, one of the largest and fastest-growing churches in the UK and Western Europe, has opened a new, purpose-built auditorium in Norwich. The 1,250-seat facility features a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics Kara II line array system, designed to provide an elevated audio experience for the church's diverse congregation.

Founded in 2014 by Pastors Jon and Chantel Norman, SOUL Church has quickly become a leading faith community with over 2,500 members. The church hosts a variety of services throughout the week, from large Sunday gatherings to intimate Bible studies. The new L-Acoustics system will support these gatherings, as well as SOUL Church's annual Christmas spectacular, which attracts nearly 10,000 attendees.

>Building a new church of this scale in Western Europe is truly unique," explains Gareth Lee, of the Directional Leadership Team at SOUL Church. "We wanted a sound system that could match the ambition of our new facility and provide a world-class experience for our congregants.

SOUL Church partnered with L-Acoustics Certified Partner Solotech, a leading audio-visual solutions provider, to design and install the system. The decision to choose L-Acoustics came after extensive research into top venues and churches worldwide. Solotech's expertise, combined with L-Acoustics renowned sound quality and support, made for an ideal collaboration.

The auditorium's unique layout, with 400 ground-level seats and tiered amphitheater seating, presented challenges for the installation. Solotech used L-Acoustics Soundvision 3D modeling software to optimize speaker placement and coverage. Soundvision proved instrumental in designing the perfect solution for SOUL Church, providing detailed heat maps of the SPL coverage for different speaker layouts. This allowed the church and installation team to choose the best option for the room.

The final design incorporates a combination of flown and floor-mounted subwoofers for optimal low-end coverage, complemented by a stereo line array and front fills. The system comprises 16 Kara IIi loudspeakers, two A15i Wide, five A10i Wide, six SB18 IIi subs, four KS28 subs, and four X12 coaxial speakers. The setup is powered by L-Acoustics amplified controllers: two LA12X and six LA4X, managed by a P1 processor and an LS10 switch for Milan-AVB networking.

The audio system installation process presented a unique challenge. The stage construction blocked the main entryway for the equipment needed to lift the speakers into place. To solve this, Solotech had to carefully coordinate with the stage construction team. In the end, they used a spider boom lift that just fit through a side door to complete the audio installation.

The new L-Acoustics system has received widespread praise from the congregation, visitors and industry professionals alike.

SOUL Church's New Home in Norwich Features L-Acoustics Kara Professional Sound System

GDANSK, Poland – September 2024 – “Gdańsk has always been blessed with a pioneering, independent way of thinking. Everything starts here – one might say – and innovative spaces like Gdańsk Institute of Urban Culture with its L-ISA immersive experience help the community’s cultural vibrancy to flourish,” says Pawel Kuhn, Marketing Director at Audio Plus, which installed the new audio technology.

Housed in a converted water plant which even features a river running underneath so that visitors can traverse via glass floors, the space is fittingly called the Kunszt Wodny (Water Art) building. The Institute creates and hosts a vast range of projects designed to promote culture and nurture the city's heritage. The building features a 50 square-metre interactive model of Gdańsk, a café, a bookstore, three workshop rooms, and an auditorium, which Audio Plus has equipped with a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics L-ISA immersive sound system. 

The 250-capacity auditorium space is adaptable, hosting everything from cinema, concerts, and theatre productions to conferences and commercial hires. A multitude of objectives were taken into account when choosing an audio system. World-class audio reproduction is the cornerstone, but optimal flexibility and versatility were equally important due to the fluid nature of the demands placed upon the space. The system needed to be compact and unobtrusive while packing a powerful punch. “The city of Gdańsk required the space to be a special, one-of-a-kind venue that would offer a spectacular cultural experience,” explains Kuhn.

Audio Plus’ long-time contractor Sound Design & Stage Technology proposed an immersive audio technology design based on L-Acoustics L-ISA technology for the space. The city of Gdańsk was excited by the idea, and the proposal was accepted. Audio Plus, L-Acoustics Certified Provider Distributor in Poland, was appointed General Contractor for the project to provide sound and stage technology for the entire venue, including the auditorium, overseeing a mix of several subcontractors, with lighting delivered by LTT, stage mechanics by BSC, cinema equipment via Awaco, and finishing touches, including the acoustic cladding, entrusted to ESM Systems.

The final configuration consisted of five hangs of two L-Acoustics A10i spread across the proscenium, with two flown hangs of two KS21i subwoofers. Seven 5XT placed along the stage lip provide spatial fill. Twelve X8, each on the side and back walls, provide surround, while six further X8 mounted in the ceiling provide overhead. The system is powered by five LA2Xi and one LA4X amplified controllers while an L-ISA Processor II manages object-based spatialisation. A stage monitor system of four X12 and eight X8 is powered by two LA4X amplified controllers.

Gdańsk Institute of Urban Culture Gives Visitors an Immersive Experience with L-ISA Technology from L-Acoustics

BERLIN, Germany - September 2024 - Berlin's iconic Uber Arena is about to sound better than ever, thanks to a cutting-edge L-Acoustics L2 professional sound system – the first sports facility L Series installation in the world. Home to the Eisbären Berlin ice hockey team and Alba Berlin basketball club, this 17,000-seat multipurpose venue hosts up to 180 events annually, ranging from championship games to chart-topping concerts. The venue has hosted acts such as Metallica, Coldplay, Barbra Streisand, U2, and Foo Fighters, and high-profile events including the Euroleague Final Four, NBA and NHL games, the European Men’s Basketball Championship, the IHF Handball World Championship, and the MTV Europe Music Awards.

> Our previous system, installed in 2008, had served us well but was no longer meeting the demands of today's events," says Sebastian Rossman, Director of Venue Operations at AEG, who manages the arena. "We needed a solution that could deliver crystal-clear sound for both sports fans and music lovers while also adapting to the 30 different configurations that our venue calls on to meet the demands of the diverse events that we host.

To tackle this challenge, Rossman enlisted the expertise of consultants MMT Network and long-term arena sound partners PAM Events. After rigorous systems testing from four different manufacturers, the L-Acoustics L2 emerged as the clear winner.

**L Series: A Sound Solution for Every Occasion **

Felix Maiworm, Project Engineer at MMT Network, explains why the L2 system stood out: "We faced unique challenges, including the need for uniform, long-term 99dB SPL across all seats and managing the venue's complex acoustics. The cardioid pattern of L Series proved crucial in controlling lower frequencies and taming the hall's reverberant field."

The new setup features five hangs of L2 speakers, two facing south, and one each facing north, east, and west. Eight X8 delay fills are used for the VIP restaurant and six X12 are placed underneath the video cube. The sound system is powered by L-Acoustics amplified controllers and managed by their processors. This configuration ensures optimal coverage for every seat in the house, whether it's for a high-stakes hockey match or a sold-out rock concert.

>The L2 upgrade provides unparalleled flexibility," says Thomas Moritz, CEO of PAM Events. "We can now create delay lines for concerts and deliver exceptional sound for sports events, meeting all our diverse needs across all possible configurations.

**A Sound Investment in the Fan Experience**

The compact design of the L Series also addressed the arena's physical constraints, allowing for shorter hangs that don't interfere with sightlines or the venue's elaborate roof structure. This aspect is particularly beneficial for the arena's frequent transitions between sports and concert setups and means the system can be lifted and parked up above the main grid when the system is not in use. 

The coverage of the system, which is significantly different between basketball and ice hockey, can be easily adjusted by using the FIR Autofilter algorithm in LA Network Manager, there is no need for mechanical adjustments, which saves cost of labour and time.

Malta – September 2024 - Two of Malta's most distinctive dining establishments have elevated their culinary experiences with the installation of state-of-the-art L-Acoustics professional sound systems. LOA, a South American-inspired seaside venue in St. Paul's Bay, and Aki, an Asian fusion restaurant in Valletta, now boast audio environments that perfectly complement their unique atmospheres and cuisine.

LOA, nestled near the historic Wignacourt Tower, draws inspiration from the ancient Río Loa River and LOA goddesses. This bright seaside venue offers a culinary journey through Argentina, Chile, Peru, and Mexico, blending exquisite flavours with Mediterranean charm. With is tunning coastal views and laid-back vibe, LOA has become a favourite among locals and tourists alike.
Aki, situated in Malta's capital city, presents a modern twist on Asian cuisine in a sleek, stylish setting. Part of a franchise with an additional venue in London, Aki combines Japanese, Chinese, and Southeast Asian culinary traditions and is known for its artistic food presentation and expertly crafted cocktails, Aki has quickly become a go-to spot for those seeking a sophisticated dining experience in Valletta.

Both venues required unique audio solutions to enhance their distinct characteristics and accommodate their transition from background music during dining hours to energetic DJ performances in the evening. The DB Group, owners of both restaurants, sought a versatile, high-quality sound system to meet these varying needs while enhancing the overall ambiance without overpowering the dining experience.

To achieve this vision, DB Group partnered with Black Box, L-Acoustics System Integrator Partner in Malta since 2017. After an impressive demonstration at the Black Box showroom, where the dynamic range and sound quality of L-Acoustics systems stood out even at low volumes, the project moved forward.

The project presented unique challenges, including the need for multi-zone setups to accommodate different music levels throughout the restaurants and the requirement for high-quality sound reproduction at both low and high volumes. David Zammit, Technical and Sales Director at Black Box, led the project, leveraging his expertise and using L-Acoustics Soundvision software to precisely model the acoustic environments of both restaurants. His designs ensured optimal speaker placement and coverage to give every guest, regardless of their location, or time of day, an exceptional experience. 

The installation at LOA features a combination of 34 5XT coaxial enclosures and 10 SB15M subwoofers, providing balanced coverage both indoors and outdoors in the restaurant and lounge. Aki's system includes six X4i and 12 5XT coaxial enclosures, six X8 coaxial point source speakers, and four SB15M subwoofers, strategically placed to cater to different areas of the restaurant, bar, lounge and private dining room. The venues are powered by six LA4X and four LA2Xi amplified controllers respectively, with LOA also utilising an LA12X for additional power and control.

The L-Acoustics systems have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both the restaurant owners and patrons. The ability to maintain clarity and dynamic range even at low volumes has been particularly praised for enhancing the dining experience without overpowering conversations.

INTRODUCING SHURECLOUD: STREAMLINE CONTROL OF SHURE NETWORKED AUDIO DEVICES FROM ANYWHERE

PARIS, France – September 2024 – The Hippodrome de Longchamp pulsed with energy this summer as Solidays Music Festival marked its 25th year, drawing a record-breaking 260,000 attendees. At the heart of this sonic spectacle? L-Acoustics professional sound systems, ensuring every beat and every message rang out with crystal clarity.

Solidays isn't just about the music – it's a movement. For a quarter-century, this unique festival has fused chart-topping performances with powerful advocacy, raising funds and awareness for AIDS prevention and support.

To create powerful, consistent sound over multiple stages spanning from intimate 1,000-person areas to the massive 50,000-strong main stage, B Live rose to the occasion, using L-Acoustics technology from the design phase through to show management. The design process began with Soundvision, which allowed B Live to plan systems to match the various audience configurations. For rapid and precise calibration, the team leaned on the P1 processor and M1 measurement suite, while show control was managed through LA Network Manager. "This integrated approach allowed us to achieve our objectives of covering all audiences as fully as possible, with the best sound quality in terms of SPL and contour," Birais added.

The main stage system featured an impressive array of L-Acoustics K Series loudspeakers, including left/right hangs of four K1-SB subwoofers over 12 K1 with two K2 down. A further 24 KS28 subs were ground-stacked in front of the stage, while 28 K2 were used as out-fills with 14 Kara II and A10 for in-fills. Delay systems consisted of 16 K2 and six Kara II, while X12 and X8 provided concert-grade sound to the VIP area. The main stage system was driven by LA12X amplified controllers using Milan-AVB networking.
